"DIZ EM QUE CIDADE QUE VOCÊ SE ENCAIXA, CIDADE ALTA OU CIDADE BAIXA?": GENTRIFICAÇÃO E A POPULAÇÃO EM SITUAÇÃO DE RUA DE SALVADOR/BA

In the current political context of the country, to discuss the ways of life and the situation of the street population is to think of a subject inserted in an exclusionary and precarious society, who stands against a marginalized individual. Thinking about these issues, this article is developed, in the form of a Theoretical-Critical Essay (LARROSA, 2003; ADORNO, 1986), based on the practices of a Psychology intern at the Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS), along with the Corra Pro Abraço Program, in Salvador / BA, whose objective is to produce reflections about how the process of gentrification has affected those who inhabit the streets and how Psychology exercises practices aiming at this relationship and the quality of life of the assisted individuals. It is well known that the street is a space that enables and creates stories on a daily basis; however, to think from this perspective is also to perceive the “symbolic wall” that the city has been building and, from this, making people invisible, in the sense of producing social cleansing, violating rights such as life and the city
